Don't get me wrong but i can't understand those ppl who put their cars in a storage and doesn't even drive them.If i can't drive them, if i can't get that adrenalin with my beatiful T/A what's the point of owning a T/A?It's more like a torture to me. I can't really look at cars as an investment.I'm very emotional abou them i guess.

Have you ever heard the saying "No one owns a car, we are simply taking care of them for the next person who obtains it" ?

It's true. If we truely love a car then we keep it mint and take care of it for it's next owner, that's all anyone can do who really cares for a car. Most people look upon cars as transportation or a hobby at best, but there are some people who just truely love a car as they would anything else in this world. I dare compare it to loving another human but I will. I guess you could call it a disease but it's a disease I don't ever want to be cured of.

I guess what I'm saying is that some people can just buy a car and never drive it but rather just have it, love it, admire it, and take as best care as possible of it and in the end it's never for us or even the next owner the way I personally see it, we do it for the car. Of course then there are cars that are so special they have a greater purpose and meaning to automotive history than most people can even comprehend and those are truely the most special cars that one can simply own, love, and admire. There are also cars that may not have any significant place in history but it means everything to the owner, that is a car that is driven but yet mantained to perfection.

I'm babbling aren't I

That is sad to say but you're right. But if you think about it from a different perspective it can run in the family too.Right now i have '57 Chevrolet Bel Air that i inherited from my grandfather waiting for me back in Turkey. He was driving that car everyday and he even thought me how to drive the car on his laps with that car, same goes with my mother too.And we're the first owners.Any car might have some kind of meaning for you.

No not at all, you made me look at this subject from a different perspective.

That's not true if you don't ever plan on getting rid of it...

Check out the interior on that baby....

I used to own a silver 1981 Trans Am. Nice car but man it was heavy and the 301 would labor hard to get it going fast. The 3 speed didn't help either.

I saw a car very similar to that in a small town mechanic shop. It used to be a car dealership and the owner had the car sitting in the show room and never sold it. The car still has the plastic on the seats and the dealer sticker in the window. Same exact car as that one. I believe it has something like 12 miles on it or so. 6.6L 10th anniversary Trans Am....I have pictures of it but would need to scan them in.....

The car featured on ebay is very mint. Awsome car!

I say PREACH ON!!!!!!!!!!

Once I get my 1970 Firebird Formula 400 Ram Air III, I will be doing just what you are talking about....and at the same time taking my 1989 Formula 350 and tearing down the dragstrip with it

That's one of the nicest 10th anniv's I've seen! :hail:
Anyone ever hear of one with a 400/AT combo? The only way you could order one was with 400/4-speed or 403/auto but a friend of mine said that a couple of guys he knew specifically tried to order "invalid" 400/autos and they got 'em. He said at least 3 were made.

I was always told that you could get a 400/AT or 400/MT in '79. But the combo that you couldn't get was a 403/MT. I've never seen a 403/MT in a Firebird, I have seen 400/AT's (not sure if stock) in '79's but never 403/MT's.

Now I'm interested and want to know.

Later, Garrett

Looks kinda like mine, except mine's not a 10th anniversary 'bird. In 79, you couldn't get a 403 with a manual. In fact, I don't think there is a manual tranny that bolts to a 403. I wish mine had one. My car has been driven, I can tell by the tears in the seats! My car was taken care of most of its life, until the guy I got it from bought it. He beat on it for the 8 months he had it. I've been taking care of it since I rescued it from him, and it will be fully restored someday. Even after it is restored, I will continue to drive it every chance I can, and I'm never selling it.

Words can't describe that car!!!

Nevertheless...my preference is to own a car that I can drive and not get paranoid about someone dinging it or stealing it...

Balanced/Blueprinted 350 with HEI conversion and rebuilt th350 with shift kit. Car runs 1/4 mile in 14.3. Not bad for 6 grand invested (including cost of car).

Here's a little something for the 1970 Formula fan.

A complete frame off restoration (concourse)?

Mine was an 81. Very similar to the one pictured with the red interior. I wanted to put the screaming chicken on the hood but couldn't afford it at the time. I sold the car to buy and engagement ring for my then girlfriend. She said yes.
