700r4 history

the Hydra-Matic Toledo plant was purchased from the MartinParry Corporation in 1955 and operated by Chevrolet Motor Division for the production of automatic transmissions beginning in 1956.
The Toledo plant was transferred to the Hydra-Matic Division in March 1983 and is presently production the model 700R4 thm 4 speed rear wheel drive automatic transmission for passenger cars and trucks.
Since 1957 more than 24 million automatic transmission have been produced at Toledo facility which has 1.6 million square feet on a 185 acre site. The toledo plant casts the case and produces the components for a complete transmission.

works fine in my'95 G30 van, but my toy MUST have its T5....or a Richmond Gear 6-speed
