Me!!!!
I have bought two cars new in my life! Both were Turbos!
First:
1981 Turbo Trans Am Special Edition
Black interior with almost every option except for a radio! It had radio delete! Now the car is totally modified! And yes, I still own it!
Second:
1989 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am
Car number 231. Leather and T-Tops! Yep, still got this one too!!!
All my other Trans Ams/Firebirds were bought used.
Some day I'll tell you about how I got them.
Later,
George

I AM the original owner of my 'vert!
Special ordered it from the dealership when I was 18, and have had it ever since (I'm now 32). She's got about 160,000 miles on her, and I'm gonna treat her to a full restoration, so my son will be able to enjoy it some day. I hope he gets as much enjoyment from it as I have!

Hi bigals87z28!
Check out ebay item #3109077134. I have never seen that one before! I have the one that you are talking about though!
No one makes a third gen Firebird at all! Someone makes a third gen camaro though! I have the California Highway Patrol car.
As for the Firebirds, I have all the 1/18th scale out so far! Just waiting on the 1967 Firebird racecar!
I've got tons of Firebird/Trans Am diecast!!!!
Have a good one,
George

I'm also an original owner...sort of. I bought a new 1982 Firebird off the showroom floor in 1982. I owned the car for a couple of years and then traded it in on an larger car.

Not quite the original owner, but I have owned my '89 'vert since buying it as a surprise birthday present for my wife in August of '90 (It had 26K miles on it...I paid 13,500. Guys, if you ever want to make a woman happy, buy her a red convertible for a B-day present. Better than diamonds!). She drove it daily for 8 years, then it was stored in the garage for 4, until being completely redone last year. Now it's my turn to drive :lala:

Nice resto job---glad too see you left the headlight pockets black.
16"'s made a big diff in handling eh ?
I wish I was old enough to buy a 3rd gen new....first owner car is the next best thing. My friends neibour has a 88 GTA with 15,000KMS---I'm waiting for that to go up for sale.

Today, I own a pair. I am the second owner of both:

1987 Z28 Convertible (nine years)

Big Al,
If you're '87 is the same color combo as my convertible, I'd love to see pics of it. Kind of a side-by-side comparison, if you will. And I love the way my polished IROC-Z wheels look on mine. I even went to the trouble of replacing the center "IROC-Z" caps with a set of "Z28" logos mounted on the IROC-Z cap (they are different diameters, so a little "customization" was necessary). I did not want any reference to an IROC-Z on my Z28. BTW, I still have the original 15x7 wheels.
