Base Camaro Question
Simple one for you Camaro guys...
I know early on they had the SC, Berlinetta and an F41 (or something like that) , but from was there a "Base Camaro" NO SC, NO Berlinetta???
I am not a Camaro Guy, but I have one in the back and was just wondering what it might be...

The Sport coupe (SC) was the base Camaro. However, there was no "Camaro SC" -- it was only a Camaro

OK,
So what your telling me is The base camaro was called a "Sport Coupe". It was an assumed name...
Unlike the "Firebird" that had the Base Firebird, all base Camaros were called Sport Coupes...

I thought that in 1988 the RS got the special "Wing"... similar to but shorter than the 1991-1992 Z-28's

Yeah, it was a half year option. I didn't include the 88 RS because for 88 it was only introduced in (I think LA and Florida). 1989 was the first year for the RS in all markets.
Also forgot to mention the 1987 LT which replaced the berlinetta for one year

Umm so what about the 87 RS's then?!?! in 88 the base model was just a "Camaro" thats it. In 89 the RS took over the base model slot.

87 had the RS is limited markets and limited colors. In 88, you only had the Camaro (sport coupe) with the 1/2 year build of the shorty spoiler, and the IROC. Again, the RS was only available in limited markets. In 89, the base model was the RS and the IROC was the upgrade.
So basically, the RS was available from 87-92, with 87 and 88 being in limited markets, and in 88, the sport coupe was the base car.

No RS's got the shorty wing. Only the 88 Camaro got it. I wonder why gm even decided to put gfx's on the 88 Camaro's since it was the last year of it anyways. Oh yeah my camaro is a morphed one 85/with gfx.
