I was wondering if the 1986 Berlinetta came with a rear hatch or not. My dad says that it doesn't. Does the rear seat fold down for access to the trunk. I'm a Skier so this is influential in my purchase, well not really because I love these cars.

Crap, try again.
It's got a 5.0 305 4BBL
100,000 miles
Runs, a few rust spots
750.00 or best offer
Why, because my friend drives a 4.6 Mustang

I'm paying for it myself, no help.
I argue because it's an 87 and it's 500.00.

After I get the car to a reliable state I wand to add a notchback, a ram-air hood, and ground FX.

Conman,
IMO, get it running in a respectable condition and put your efforts towards something else. Sounds to me like a $750 car should remain that way.
I'm sure I speak for a few of the fellas here when I say you'll want to move onto a better 3rd gen (with more potential) once you see what's available. A nice IROC may be better worth your efforts some day. Use the Berlinetta as a learner.

Pacer is right... use that as your learner car, then take a look around and check out some Z28's or IROC camaros... those are 1000000000 times better cars.

Now Come on guys there is nothing wrong with a V-8 Berlinetta. And the comment about the IROC's being so much better true but not as much as stated. The Berlinetta is a fine platform to modify (I would actually prefer it because I feel bad modding an IROC, less around and parts are more expensive)
The IROC are better but way more expensive. Keep the Berlinetta and mod it. Forget the Ground effects, Ram Air hood and Notchback. If your buddy has a 4.6 Stang just pull the 305 and swap the pig for a 350 or 400. Then you can beat your buddy in the Stang and still have money left (Plus the Berlinetta is a sleeper
)
And IMO the Hood, Notchback, and GFX mods are just kinda R*ICER if you don't have the performance to back them up. Just my opinion though.
But yes a very good starter car I will agree, Have fun with it no matter what.
Later, and Good Luck, Garrett
