86 black z28 worth it?

ive been lookin for a new daily driver for a week now...RIP ricestang, and i would prefer an f-body. i found a black 86 z28 at some guys house today, it's a hardtop 5 speed LG4 with 115,000 miles. it has 30,000 on the rebuilt motor. it's 100% stock with red interior and 1 year old glossy black paint and no imperfections. he wanted 2500 OBO, i told him right off that i know a lot about f-bodys and its not worth a cent more than 2k lol. i might be able to talk him down more. he hates parting with it but doesnt have a need for it anymore. is the z28 worth it? or is HE the one screwing me over? BTW it failed emitions but passed everything else. he said that its cause of the carb thats on it and that he'll put the other one on so it passes. i live in MASS, doesnt the seller of the car have to garuntee that it passes inspection or they have to pay to make it pass? ie, buyin a new cat for u if it needs it...? and if i buy it should i keep it in origonal condition or is it more desirable to leave it stock like he has done?

I'm sure you will enjoy it. Sounds like a good price. I paid $14,800 for my 1986 black Z28 (but that was back in 1986 ).

Enjoy!
