A buddy from my 3rd gen club picked it up at a Police auction--he was going ot part it out but I couldn't resist. For $1300 CDN heres what I get:

It also had the hood bird---I think 87 was last year????

Seems like some odd options--drums, pois and 16" wheels and 220km/h speedo. Is it possible the factory had 3.42s??

The RPO sticker is gone though
Need a good cleaning and I'll probably paint it.
Body is vg shape and straight. Steering column is all smashed.
Engine is not original---had a blue block. And from the way it jumps off the line it is probably a 350--so thats good!

So I hope to fix her up a little a sell my 88 TBI IROC---which has rust on every panel.

 

That sounds almost like my TA. Mine is that color and year. I have POSI W/drums. I think most 1987 cars are the 2.77 something gears. Not the 3.42. Not normally anyway. I've got the 16" wheels and the power everything. Also my car was a bit quick off the line compared to stock. I didn't know why at first. My car is not a 350 but it did have the exhuast work already done. Good luck with your purchase and your new venture.

okay I must have had a blonde moment. Colour is called Balck Saphire metalic--who knew that meant navy blue?

Anyway, I drove the car home from Airdre last night 22km---did just fine but stalled twice almost at home. Hood release is broken so I didn't shut it--and it stayed on the car at 90km/h.

Had good power--wants to go a little sideways on the 1-2 shift. Gonna get it checked out tomorrow.
