87 LT w/ Tach?
hey i have an 87 LT camaro with an LG4, 700r4, 3:42 rear end and it also has a tachometer. i was wondering if anyone else had one.....cuz its the only 305 car i have ever seen with a tach. all the other LT camaros i see have the fuel gauge where my tach is. im really starting to think that my LT camaro is a z28 w/ out the ground effects? any of you 87 z28 guys got any advice? please help me....ive searched and looked at numerous cars. thanks in advance!

If it was like a firebird the gages would have been an option...

look for RPO code U21. It's the gauge package for sport coupes. It gives you the same gauge package as a Z28.
87 LT sport coupes are unusual. What other options does it have?

i have a tach in my 305! And a 145 speedo. All the LT's ive seen (whice is 3) have only had the gas guage. To bad LT's didnt get the star wars dash from the berlinetta.

The standard instrument cluster in the 1987 Camaro Sport Coupe (with or without the LT option) included idiot lights. For a mere $149 (RPO U21), you could order the optional factory gauges. This optional cluster is identical to the base Z28 cluster (as stated above).
As far as an LT being a Z28 without ground effects, it's not close. You see, LT stands for "Luxury Touring", which is an option on the base Sport Coupe that added "creature comforts", including a softer suspension and 14-inch tires. If the Sport Coupe is one step away from a Z28, the Sport Coupe LT is two steps away.
