car is completely stripped

after a few more bolts and odds and ends still on my car, it will be completely stripped of everything. I am going to start sandblasting it next week hopefully. I have a few questions toward the restoration and putting it back together.

1) does anybody make a set of stainless steel bolts that i can use to put my car back together? I know there are a few companies that make the bolts for old cars. can anybody give me a website?

2) the right rear quarter panel will need to be replaced. what is the easiest way to replace it. i am looking at getting an entire replacement panel, or getting a panel that i will need to weld in right below where the rear window would be. any suggestions?

3) I am needing to replace the strut towers because of rust damage. has anybody done this already? if so can you give me any pointers?

4) I am planning on mig-welding all of the panels together to help with the spot welds. has anybody done this? if so, do i need to lay a continous bead, or can i go intermittently to save weight? how much stiffer will the chassis become after i do this? (t-tops)

5) if there are any parts that somebody may want, pm me, and i will see if i will use them over or not.

i am sure there will be many more questions

thanks

andrew

Be careful with stainless bolts. Some bolts in your car are grade 5, 8 and seat belts are event higher. Stainless is commonly grade 2 or 3. Although if you know what the alloy is, sometimes there is a stainless that is about as tough as grade 5.

While stainless look great, they are not good for all applications. Check the torque ratings before you install.

Mark.
