it's a myth that 1LE's were all bare bones. Some came with quite a few options.
Where are you from? That sounds like a great deal!

I was under the impression that the only way you could get 1LE with full options (or a lot of opions) is if it was a B4C. I know For sure that that was the only way you could get an A/C 1LE car.

nope- you didn't need a B4C--1LE to get options.
I suspect people who ordered creature comforts with thier 1LE were thinking of resale value.

I have personally seen a 1LE Trans Am with T-tops! It's for sale in my city.
I think the story with 1LE should be, that if you ordered a bare bones car, GM automatically added 1LE for you, providing you ordered the 305 5 speed and G92 or 350 auto with G92 ... or something like that. But if you specified 1LE yourself, you could order it with options.
Actually, I wonder if you ordered 1LE and Air, if they would have built it. Perhaps if it was faxed in and not through the computer, or if you knew the right people.
1LE is such an interesting story. There are new odd cars showing up all the time.
Mark.

im not calling bs, im just saying that this is crap.... whats the point of having a fugging 1LE if its gunna have AC and all the other stuff, and just have big brakes and an alum. drive shaft.... 1LE is rare cause of what it DOESNT have IMO. Could just have 1LE brakes on it on a 92 Z... could of just been some left over stuff in 92 that got thrown on... im calling BS on GM, not you.

I agree ... why would you want a 1LE with T-tops and such. Very odd indeed. I had to go see the car just to see it in person. In my opinion, it is worth less than a 1LE without T-tops. Sure it is rare and odd, but you can't use the big brakes for what they were intended for ... racing.
But none the less ... an interesting car. Some day it might fetch more money. But today, there are better 1LE cars on the market.
Speaking of 1LE ... 1989 Turbo Trans Ams were 1LE too ... the most loaded 1LE's made. :-)
