Engine: 5.0 in the sports coupe-350 in the berlinetta
Transmission: 700r4 in the sports coupe-turbo-350 with a 2500 stal in the berlinetta
L69 drive trains

As i understand it theL69 in 1984 came in either the 5 speed 3:73 or an automatic with 3:42 cogs.My friend has a 84 z with an L69 and the gt4 option.Is ths an od combination?

I thought ALL L69 F-cars came with the 3.73 rear gear. I've never seen one with a 3.42 gear.

Take off the cover and look, while you're changing the fluid (as you should be doing occasionally anyway). Screw all the turns counting and speedo/tach stuff and "codes", none of it is accurate or dependable. Bypass all that and move directly to reality.

Don't forget to put posi additive in it if you see that it has that.
