what did the f-fbody dana 44 come in???

i would like to know what the dana 44 in f-bodys came in. i was told it was an option for all f-bodies and that they could be found in just about any f-body possible. i just wanted to see if there is any truth behind this and if so what would be the likely candidate for this rear end. thanks, john

Firehawk only from the dealer. At one time you could buy them from Gm for your F-body though.

Truth is you probably don't need one unless your making over 500 HP. The more common 9 bolt Borg Warner would be a better choice for anything less than that. The simple reason is the Dana is a heavier rear end that eats more hp to operate. You have more parasitic loss in a Dana than you would in a BW.
