hi guys i have the chance to get a iroc for free and so far the only numbers i can find stamped on it and it is 1HN142841 i have yet to check around the radiator but will soon so can anyone tell me what this is?

That's the last part of a VIN
1 = check digit
H = year (87)
N = Norwood plant
rest of it = serial number
not much to work with there.... no engine code for example (would be the digit right before the 1)

vin tag under winshield? vin sticker in door jam on drivers side, rpo tag in center console storage on door.

i have checked the door jamb and what i posted was what was on the dash. i have yet to check the center console though. apparently the car was repainted and the stuff in the jamb was removed.

Without that one, it's not a car any more, it's just a pile of useless scrap steel that sort of resembles a car, and that's why you got it for free.

well the dash has been taken apart so i'm going to check where all that stuff is and hopefully find something. i got it free cause my friend's dad got it and offered it to me cause he didn't want it
