5th gen firebird?

We've all heard the news about the 5th gen camaro that is supposed to come out in 2007. But what about the firebird? Is GM gonna let the GTO compete with the camaro instead of the firebird? I love my camaro to death, beyond any firebird i've seen out there (though there are plenty of nice ones), but once the 4th gen came out, i liked the firebird over the camaro, sleeker look in my opinion. But if GM's bringing back the camaro, what about the firebird? It would be a shame if the camaro continued without it's counterpart. Has anyone heard anything about a 5th gen firebird or is the firebird pretty much going to remain dead?

Also, i know the camaro was put on "Hiatus" instead of being discontinued or cancelled. Does anyone know about this being done for the firebird?

No Firebird. The GTO will be the lead performance car from Pontiac.

At least that is what I keep hearing.

This topic has come up before, but is not 3rd gen related.
