Z28 Emblems

Hi I just recently purchased an emblem for a third gen z28 camaro. It is for the rear fascia and is factory GM in the package.I am a little confused about the type of car it belongs on.The emblem says Z28E with the chevy bowtie after it.Has anyone out there ever seen one of these cars.I am just starting to get into the third gen after purchasing a second gen and now an 84 and I have never before seen an emblem like this.If you have any info please reply. Thanks CAMAROFANATIC.

Z28E emblem

I did a search on Google for Z28E, and got sites in Germany, Austria, Finland, and Netherlands.
I also found site with pictures of a 1984.
Hope this works, if not cut and paste.

I know this thread is very old but do you still have that decal, I have been looking for one for my 82 Z28E for a long time.

Pretty cool. I learn something new every day. Also regarding the taillight area, it looks like they even made European allowances for that huge license plate.

Re: Z28 Emblems

It's interesting that the door pull/armrests are color keyed to the door panel instead of black. And the blank off panels for the window cranks are also color keyed and don't seem to have the Camaro emblem

European law,of the time, prohibited non flexible exterior items to protect pedestrians. The paddle mirrors and the lack of the rear spoiler are an example. The US finally adopted the flexible mirrors although I'm not sure it's a law like the CHMSTL or the DRL.
