I have a question... i would like to know all of the different packages/combos's that my car came with, but the only thing i have for refference is the VIN. The doors have been replaced, and so has the hood. I think possibly even the console lid, but i am not sure. Is there any way to get that info in the white book, or by searching with the VIN?

I received the factory invioce from Jenn on the boards, but i dont think it is a in depth as i want, or i just dont know how to read it right.

Any and all info appreciated!

Go to your local dealership and give them your VIN code and they can give you a list of everything that was original on your car.

Got my package from them today and it is great. They sent all the dealer info and complete book of specs for all 87 birds. All build info and rpo#s for my car and tossed in an 02 transam sales pamphlet to boot, lots of reading to get me thru the winter!

 

Thats sweet, considering they are from canada, this has nothing to do with where the car was made right? i assume not, but i am just checking to make sure...

 

do what i did go to your local gm dealership with your vin and they'll print off a sheet for free no questions asked

 

my local dealership did not know how to do any checks, but i know others do get the info so... maybe if i bought more new cars they'd figure it out! I just called 1-888-467-6853 and gave them my VIN & VISA #s and three (yes 3) days later got a big *** package in the mail with lots of stuff and a note from the guy who pulled the papers for me! $48 ain't free but i figure the trans am brochure will make a handy trade sometime for something i might want and i now have pretty much any detail i could ever ask for re my car!
The car is from norwood, with an rpo for canadian emissions change, so i assume anyone can get this info, maybe more for shipping

WAs 84 or 85 the first year they started putting the RPO sheet in the glovebox? Before that it was somewhere under the hood... Never could find mine, granted never looked really hard. ( I guess I should state I have an 83 T/A parts car...)

'84 they put the RPO labels in the console. '82-'85 they had a few RPO's on the cowl tag; that ended for '86.
