Help identifying 4-speed manual trans
I acquired a transmission when I bought my 84 Camaro and I'm trying to identify it. Its a cast iron case 4 speed, external linkage, and it has what looks to be a torque arm mount. The numbers on the trans are 14030974 and 6261888. Is this an 82 F-body 4 speed or something else?

If the tranny came in an F-body (and do you know if it did?) it has to be from an 82 or maybe early 83. That's the only year(s) of 4 speeds. But as you said, maybe it's not originally from an F-body
If the side plate has 9 bolts and looks like a "lying down" letter D, it's a Borg Warner T-10 like mine. That's the good one. It's also an aluminum case.
Otherwise, it could be a Saginaw, which was also available in 82.
I assume they all would have a torque arm mount? Not sure of the numbers either.
