dash board

like most 3rd gen or on almost any older car the dash board has cracked over a period of time. i want to replace mine. i finally found one about 1 month ago at a local junkyard that did not have a single crack in it. Unfortunately i had to leave and when i came back it was gone. i know that you can buy dash covers but i want the original part. i have an 85 Z-28. Can you buy it from a dealer, aftermarket, or body shop? if anyone knows please tell.

I think your best bet is a junkyard, here (or other internet board, just don't get ripped off), or ebay. A body shop will get you one, a used one most likely, and they will charge you more. A dealer might be able to get a new one for you but thats going to be very expensive.
