92 heritage rs with 16in wheels????
got a 92 RS heritage (white/red stripes/red leather int) here in the junk yard. its a 305 tbi auto,no t-tops,but whats strange is is that its got the 16in z28 wheels (in white) and they are factory because the car has the wonderbar in it...it also has the large z28 fron bar in it (its broken though) the car has 120000 miles on it and the junk yard owner said that it was a dealer trade in that was junked (possibly due to the front swaybar being cracked).i always thought the rs had the 15 in wheels that look identical....im buying the rear out of it. (i tried to get the whole car but he couldnt sell it to me). by looking at the car you can tell it was never molested it still has the stock exhaust still on it. and it must have been a older person who owned it because theres a AARP sticker in the windo (ya know, the american association of retired persons ) just wanted to know if this is common to se the 16 in wheels stock on the later rs cars.

The 16" wheels were common on the 305 cars. I could be wrong, but I think all heritage edition cars had the 16" wheels. Correct me if I'm wrong. The wonderbar is questionable though!!!

I think all '91/'92 RS cars came with the 16 inch Z28 rims if they had F41 Suspenion and 305. F41 seemed to trigger the 16s and was available only on V8 cars so if the car came with 15s and 305 then it didn't have F41.
There were only 2 styles of wheels for '91/92s. The 15s were the older 3rd gen style (previously on Z28)looking wheels and the 16s were the 91/92 Z28 style. There were no 15s that looked like the '91/92 Z28 style.
The 15s were on the 6 cyl cars and on some of the 8 cyl cars if they did not have F41.

I know that Z28 wheels were an option for the 91-92 RS .I looked at a teal '92RS w/Z28 wheels before buying my Z28.

A lot of misconception about the 16s availability on RSs because prior to '91 I don't think they were. But a lot of '91 and '92 RS cars came with 16X8s - and all were V8s. That used to be the easiest way to tell back when they were new.

All I was referring to is some people may think that all RS cars came with the familiar 15 inch wheels. I know several owners of pre-91 RS cars that were not aware that 16s were ever an option during the entire 3rd gen.
