good morning ! i have 2 84 t/a's. a 15th anniversary i bought last week. 108,000 miles built in norwood, YAY ! the paint is wonderful unlike the CRAP from van nuys where my other one was built. however, the blue one is a lot faster. someone along the way put a 5 something to 6 something rear gear in it. it scoots in town but turns 4,000 rpm @ 80 mph; in over drive ! the anniversary car has a few issues mostly maintenence, but will one day be an interstate hi speed cruiser. regards. ps, go to HELM.COM. bite the bullit and buy the 84 firebird factory manual. i think mine was $60.00 3 years ago. you could if you wanted to or were psycotic enough take every last nut and bolt apart on these cars and put it back together. all 15,000 of them. i think i could write a book on the trials and tribulations ive had with the blue one. 2 tips- SILICONE SPRAY every rubber part on the car-lots of it. 2- gently torque all the 10mm bolts along both front fenders and along the top of the radiator under the hood..firms things up nicely. regards
