In all the documentation I read, (gm brochures, tech sheets, etc), it appears that if you ordered "just" a Trans Am, you only got a 3.08 rear gear with a 305 5 speed.
If you ordered a GTA or Forumla, then you got the 3.45 rear gear.
I found some conflicting info that if you ordered the MK6 5 speed, then you got the better rear gears ... although the MK6 was not really a known option, at least not on the order sheets.
Mark.

The 3.45 in my Formula was part of the W66 Formula Option package, and I'd guess it's also part of a GTA Option package. So that should help confirm your findings on those models.
But I think TAs could be purchased with or without all the performance upgrades. So if someone wanted the 3.45, it probably got ordered individually as G92 Performance Ratio.
