I hate to do it, but............
I am going to sell my IROC. Before I moved here to Georgia, I had a big block 65 malibu ss. I loved that car and sold it to finance my second house. I have a chance to get a numbers matching 65 ss that is rust free. It comes with the original 283 and 4 speed and all of the trim, but it also comes with a big block. I am getting it for a good price and I cannot pass it up.
On to the question for you guys. How much should I ask for my car? Its an all original '88 l98 IROC. It has 93k orig miles, with all the good options, i.e., aluminum driveshaft, bose sound system, leather seats, disc brake rear end, and so on and so forth. It has nitrous, but I am thinking about selling that separately. It has bfg dr's with good tread and near new potenza's up front.
mods:
edelbrock 3 " cat back
nitrous(might go with it)
TPIS adj. fuel press. regulator
TPIS air foil(woohoo)

Dont know how elaborate your setup was, but if it was my car id take that nitrous off and make it look like it was never there. IMO i would probably never buy a car that already had nitrous on it just because I would be to worried about the motor bein beat to crap. Also i dont think that nitrous kit really adds anything to your reasale probabaly get more selling it separate. As far as how much to ask probably somethin in the 4.5 to 5k range, check around town and in your local classifieds if you want to get an idea of how much similar cars are goin for in your town.

If the car is mint you could most likely get $6,600-$7,400. Good condition probably $5,700-$6,500. All depends on the buyer and how the car is. See what others are selling for similar to yours.

The paint is single stage, but in good shape. It is the original color, but just not a glassy two stage. I had something setup to get a good two stage on it, but I do not think it would be worth it now. I just do not think it would make a big enough difference in what I would get for it because the paint on it now is pretty decent.
I will remove the nitrous setup. Its not an elaborate setup at all and I agree, I will probably do better selling it separate. Or I could use it on another camaro I have.
I really only want to get 3500-4000 out of it. Thats all I will need to buy the chevelle and have some left over.

Those sites that give the values of used cars are way off when it comes to vehicles like these. You'll never get a really nice or mint L98 IROC-Z for $4500. They don't think a numbers matching, mint, 67 Z28 would go for about $48,000 either, but they do.

yeah, go on KBB and type in an '87 Iroc-Z L98 with 25 miles, and then go back and type in the exact same car with 300,000 miles and the prices will be like $150 off. yeah right..

"Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks great, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. It should pass a smog inspection. The engine compartment should be clean, with no fluid leaks. The paint is glossy and the body and interior are free of any wear or visible defects. There is no rust. The tires are the proper size and match and are new or nearly new. A clean title history is assumed. This is an exceptional vehicle.

If you goto the NADA site and look up the same car, with 93,000 miles.....the maximum is 3,610 which is high retail
High Retail Value
A high retail vehicle should be in flawless condition. All power equipment should be functional. The paint should match and have a high gloss finish. The carpet and seat upholstery should be clean and have minimal wear. The engine should start quickly and run smoothly. The tires should be like new with a spare and jack. The mileage should be significantly below the acceptable mileage range for the model year.
A high retail vehicle on a dealer lot should be fully reconditioned and is likely to include a warranty, guarantee or manufacturer certification and current safety and/or emission inspection (where applicable).
7k is a tad high for this car
