i recieved mine last week, it took about 8 weeks for me to get it.It was really cool though reading the factory invoice, seeing all the options, and what car dealer got the car and the actual selling price. be patient it is deffinatly worth the wait.

I'm still waiting, but I don't think it's been 6 weeks yet since I put in the request. Maybe 3 or 4, so I sure I've got a bit longer to wait.

I've been waiting 12 weeks and haven't heard a thing. I hope it comes soon I need some documentation on this car. It's been stripped to the bone and I didn't find the built sheet. The previous owner keep all the paper work to the car the only thing I have is SPID label.

to get an invoice you have to email gm at
gmma.research@gm.com when you email them you have to give the vin# and the year of the car.

Nothing for me yet either; I emailed them back in May and even did a follow-up email in July. The response was that they were extremely busy and were trying to catch up. I have some patience left because the information is free. 3 months, however, is beginning to push the envelope a bit.

when i emailed my information off, i was told there was only one girl who does this at gm, also when she emailed me for some more information, she stated in the email that they can go back to 1977. if i am not mistaken she used to frequent these boards.good luck in getting all your invoices, hopefully you all will get them soon.

Can anyone say 'invoice'? I knew you could

Got mine today - I saw an envelope with a GM logo in the upper left corner and thought, "Hm. That looks suspiciously like my invoice!"

1FP87 - CAMARO 2DR IROC-Z COUPE, MSRP $14.145.00, INV AMT $12,631.49, TOTAL PRICE - $19,905.00

The car was nearly optioned-out from what I can tell - almost 20 grand was a pretty penny back in th' day, yo

i did not realize how much these cars cost back in the 80s. mine sold for $18,663.00 ,the most exspensive option on mine was the LT convertible option PKG #4 that alone was $2376.00 .even though they are copies, still pretty cool to have.

I'm thrilled to have even a copy! I actually called the dealer where my car was sold and they said that I could have a few dealer stickers for free (the ones that have the dealer name on a plate that sticks to the rear bumper cover). They don't make the raised plastic plates anymore - just decals now - but they'll still be cool to have. I don't plan on permanently mounting them, though.

My next projects are to acquire an owner's manual and a reproduction (or self-made copy) of a window sticker.

18-20 grand doesn't sound like much these days, which is sad; that really was fairly big money for a car back then
Oddly, I picked up my new-in-'92 bare-bones RS for a sticker price of $13,100.

Finally got mine GM. I can't believe the car cost $20,400 in 1990. My Convertible cost me $32,353 in 1999. It just goes to show how much inflation there is.

Does anyone know where to get reproduction window stickers?

I was just wondering where to get one of these! I emailed them and asked about repro SPID labels, too. We'll see what they say.

Damn. I emailed 'em and got a response that said they'd rather not. They COULD do them, but they can barely keep up with the window stickers. I guess it's back to the Photochop drawing board

Yeah, they do window stickers - it's all they do, which is why they'd rather not do SPID labels...window sticker business is apparently booming.

Dude. You just completely convinced me to buy one; I was curious about the quality, but not anymore. I'll buy two - one to display on the restoration () and one to file away.

I'm now wondering if 'gauge' was spelled 'gage' on the original window stickers; 'gauge' is the correct spelling, after all, but I am to spelling what Jim85IROC is to stock

Thanks for the pic!

The color of the car is now Sunset orange. They will make small changes to your window sticker to reflect the minor changes you have made in your car.

Yep, I found that out this evening when I checked the window sticker from my '92 RS. Now all I gotta do is work on a repro SPID label or find somebody who does them. The big parts are easy to find when doing a restoration - it's little stuff like window stickers, SPID labels, inspection marks, spring tags, etc. that are impossible to find info about.

The only lack of info that I can see with this is the dealer that sold the car; what plant built your car? I forget which plants built which cars when

It was invoiced through Kipp Scott Pontiac out of Red Deer, AB but it was sold new at Wheaton Pontiac in Saskatoon, SK. The car was built in Van Nuys, CA.

Mine finally came. Thanks again to Peggy.

Since my request I picked up another Camaro though, so I just sent in the request for that one. Hopefully I'll be able to get that one too.

Can't you guys get all this stuff from the Pontiac Historical Services? I thought they could get you all of the paper work on Pontiacs including some extra stuff like color options and photos.
anyone ever use that service? I know it's only for Pontiacs so the Camaro guys are out.
