What plant was it Dan do you recall ?

Ditto on the Pace car shot, never seen so many Recaro seats in one place and probably never will.

So if only 4 million F bodys were made that means that over half of the F bodys out there are 3rd gens. If I am correct with there being 2.3 million third gens made.

I've been crying since the beginning of this thread!!!!!Like a baby!!!! It' s depressing that Gm stopped makng these beautiful cars...i mean that pic of all those 91s in my opinion could be a pic of a current chevy dealer...thirdgens are just as modern looking and more attractive (when new or restored) as ANY new car!!!!

Enough with the 4th Gens already!

You people don't realize, that factory being taken down was one of the best things ever for the F-Body. (or should I say, for the next Camaro )

PM bigals87z28 and ask him why. He'll explain it all. I know it doesn't make much sense to people that don't know why the car was really stopped or to those that aren't following the 5th Gen. It was a good thing, believe that. Now, back to Third Gens.

Third-gen assembly plant pics

Glad to see my pics made it on the board!!! nick418, you must know kizz. I mailed him those pics over a year ago. I would have posted them myself but I don't have a scanner. The car carrier with the red IROC's was shot at Norwood during the 3rd annual USCC grand nationals, June 1987. All those red IROC's were headed for Canada! And the three Van Nuys pics; purple Z28, and black Z28 vert were indeed shot January 1992. We went back to Van Nuys in August of that same year and I have more pics of the holding lot when it had more cars. The close ups of the grey Firebird and white IROC on top of the transporter are mine too but I did not take them. Somebody I know who worked at Norwood took them in the final days of production. There are more pics like these including inside shots of the plant. I probably have enough material to do a website dedicated entirely to Norwood during the third-gen years but don't know anybody who is computer savvy and has the time to take on such a project. Maybe one day...

If it was possible for me to get those pics, I would make the BEST site EVER!!

Seriously, I'm sure the guys here will all pitch in to buy you a scanner!!!
