No more pics of 4th gens or info pertaining to fourth gens. There are plenty of sites that have this information and permit the discussion of 4th gens. This is a 3rd gen site. Please stay on topic. Now back to your regularly scheduled messaging.

yea sorry about the image quality. It is the best I could do and get it to post. If you right-click on the image and save it to your computer you can view it at 150% and see it much better.

There are more 4th gen pics than 3rd gen for a simple reason. Cameras have become smaller, cheaper, more readily available, and distribution of the taken pics has become easier and easier. With the advent of digital photography, people take more and more and more pics...of anything and nothing in general and distribute them on the web, email, cds, cell phone, etc...
Plant worker in the 80's to take a and share a pic:
Convience his wife to let him borrow the family's only camera. Make sure there is film and fresh batteries. Lug the large camera and carrying case into work. Stop working to setup the camera and flash. Take pic. Lug camera home. Finish taking pics on the roll. Rewind film. Develop film. Order reprint. Get stamps. Address envelopes. Mails pictures.
Plant worker in the 90's to take and share a pic:
Decide which of his personal digital cameras to take to work. Slip camera into pocket. Take a quick moment to turn on camera and snap pic. Take camera home. Download pic. Dial up to the internet. Send email message with attached pic.
Plant worker now to take and share a pic:
Go to work as normal. Take out cell phone. Take pic. Send email with pic from phone to unemployed plant workers in the states.

Maybe someone should post it in the "magazine articles" section of the thirdgen.org home page.

I have an old car craft from 90 or 91 with a drag car firebird thirdgen on the assembly line with regular thirdgens just for the photo op. I believe it was just before the van nuys plant closed?

I know you can tour the corvette plant in Bowling Green Kentucky. I am also told that if you special order a corvette, there is an option to go down and see it being built, and then be the first to drive it off the assembly line. Way cool. touring the plant is definitely on my todo list!

phess11, good call on the June 1983 article of Car & Driver! This is what started the fascination of Norwood for me. There is also a very good article of the H.O. Z28 vs. Mustang in the same issue.
I appreciate the offers of everyone to buy me a scanner but it's not that I don't have the money. If I get one it will just sit in the box until I find someone who can teach me how to use it. I have thought about taking some continuing education classes to learn more about computers i.e. posting pics! But working 60+ hours a week doesn't leave me much time.

I'm working on it. Don't give up on me yet guys. I'm going to buy a scanner in the next week or two and WILL find somebody who can show me how to use it.
I thought about this after I saw another post by someone who wanted to see our cars new while still on the dealers lot. Well I have a whole mess of those pics as well.
It really frustrates me that I haven't learned to do this sooner, and that I haven't been able to share these pics with everyone.
Please be patient with me, good things come to those who wait.

Like mentioned previously I've got some half decent pics of new ones on the lot but It's going to be a little while longer before I can get them on my computer. Working two jobs and going to college is killing me. The reason I get a chance to post on this site is 'cause I do it at work.
Problem is I cannot host the pics so perhaps I can send them to someone to host.

8. last one...
thanks Bandit400 great pics !!!
thanks Bandit400 great pics !!! Thanks so much for posting those pics THEGENERAL.
Those were taken at three different dealerships on two different occassions. I've been mad for years that they chopped off the left side when developing one roll but I never took the negatives back in to re-develop, if I can find them I will now.
THe new black '91 Formula that I wanted so badly was a TPI305 car whereas the hot new red '91 Trans Am was an L98. The new RS Camaros were all '92s and were taken fairly early in the model year. I've got some slightly better pics I can get from video that I shot on those same visits but It will take me a little more time to get that done.
Thanks again for hosting those!
