I was where the Van Nuys plant used to be last week. There are a bunch of GM cars parked there, and lots of trains. There is a painting of a few GM cars and a IROC under a overpass. Didn't take any pictures though.

f1LS1: Thanks so much for posting those pics. This is the first time I have seen them.
82FirebirdTA, please get some pics of the old VanNuys site. I would love to see it now that you have re-opened the plant and have started building 83's again

I looked more closely. I made a mistake, I didnt realize the last Camaro was a Vert, in the pic, the car I thought was the last one, was a coupe, not the vert. Whoops

I dont read French, but is that a total of more than 4 MILLION???
Is that for the St.Threse plant altogether, or just for the 4th gens, or all the gens...

Need to take a picture of the Home Depot and the OfficeMax that was resurrected on the Van Nuys lot. Then make a sign that says, "YOUR CAR WAS MADE HERE"

Those are some really neat pictures. I posted a similar thread some time ago. It seems either pics of the assembly line in the plant are either rare or relatively non-existant. Probably not too many people thought about taking pics back then and GM likely didn't allow much of that. I'd love to see more pics of the Norwood or Van Nuys plant both inside and out, though.
Also, on a side note, if anyone has pics of the SLP assembly area I'd like to see that, too.

I hope someone has pics somewhere of the cars on the assembly line.
Or even lined up outside.
I'd love to see that.
Also, does anyone have any pics of these cars at a dealership selling new?

When I took a tour of the Buick Assembly plant back when I was in 4th grade (that was a long time ago) I think they forbid pictures taken inside the plant. I remember my Principal having a camera and they would not let him use it, except in certain areas... Although he had the chance to ride in a car when they were testing it in the factory. It was a Buick Station wagon
So with that in mind

I took pictures/ video of new '91 Firebirds (2 Firebirds, 1 red T/A and 1 black Formula)
Also a line of new '91 RS Camaros, and a line '92 RS Camaros. also a new '93 Camaro, '01 WS6. Also a new 99 30th Anniv WS6, '02 CETA, 02 35th SS, 02 Firehawk.
When I developed the black formula front pic, the retards chopped off the side and I never took it back to be redeveloped and now the negatives are probably too old. THey also chopped a side pic of a new purple RS.
I do still have some video of a shiny new Purple Haze RS 305 in the show room. Thread Starter

Bandit400 my mom has gotten pictures remade from negatives that where taken in the 70's so there not to old i would like to see them if you get them redone.
Those pictures were taken with an old cheap 110 camera but some of them actually looked halfway decent other than the chopping off when they were developed. Do they still develop those old 110 negatives?
Of course, finding the negs after some 13 years may be a trick

I work at an auto assy. plant and I can tell you that finding actual production pictures are gonna be relatively non-existant. Especially fairly recent ones. Photography is strictly forbidden in the plants. You can't bring in a cell phone that has a camera built in either. I'm not sure of GM policy, but I'll bet they are the same as the one we have.

Sorry, fixed it now... stupid Tripod hosting!
I think I was told this was a factory shot but to me it looks like it was shot at Daytona as all the cars are decaled. Cool photo regardless.

Car Craft has on the cover of an ealy 90's issue shot of a blown 91 or 92 Firebird rolling on the assy line. It was shot on a 3 day holiday and towards the final days of the plants operation.
Its around someplace, I still need to find it.
