Does anyone remember a 1987-ish Z28 that GM had as a "cut away"? Looking for info.

I understand GM Performance Parts had a 1987 Z28 that they used as a promotional car. It was a cut away car such that they displayed many of the performance parts they sold. The floor was cut away to show the dual cats, the front brakes were 1LE, the engine was a ZZ1 crate motor, the transmission was polished, the rear aluminum drums were polished, and so on.

By some remote change, would anyone remember this car? I am trying to find a picture or info on it.

Real long shot.

Mark.

Thanks I knew that. The car in question was used by GM Performance parts to display "stuff". I am trying to find out what years this was in. Based on some of the parts, it could have been as late as 94.

What I believe happened was that the car servered as a prototype for GM. It was then sold the GM Performance Parts later on, who then cut it up and displayed it. It sat for 1 years and was crushed recently.

ditto! I'm pretty sure I've seen a pic, but it might not have been that exact one. All I do know, is I no longer have it!

I hope someone still has a picture of it, or at least knows a bit more about it.

Here's hoping!

I thought the original was the ZZZ. I don't remember ever hearing anything about a ZZ2, but we're all familiar with the ZZ3 and ZZ4 I'm sure.
