I was wondering if anyone had a picture of the correct shifter **** for '83 T/A's?
Thanks.

Here you go bud, found this on the web, looks just like my original.
Would have sent a pic. of mine, but I currently have the 1984 **** on mine.
Also, this one looks very dull compared to mine. Mine is as shiney as a pool ball, probable from use

This is not the best view, but it's the only one I have, currently on my computer

Thanks!
That's exactly what my '83 came with when I bought it, except it was grey. I might go with an '84 shifter ****.

The first 3rd gen I ever drove was my buddies 1984 T/A, with a 5spd, and really liked it.
Then when it came time to buy my 83, I was disappointed that it didn't have the same **** as the 84, which is more comfortable, in my opinion. So that was my first mod, was to go down to the local Pontiac dealer, and order a new 1984 shift ****. I think it was like $9.00, and the leather wrapped one was like $30-$40??
The leather is cool, but after have driven one, I didn't like the feel of the stitching on the top of the ****, so I went with the smooth one. And it is a dark gray, and not black.

Oh, so I do have the '84 shifter ****. The only thing that bugs me about it is how it's gray and not black. I let my friend with a '91 T/A borrow it since the leather on his was peeling off.
I got this one for free to use for now and it looks like the correct one for the '83's. To bad it's in bad shape.
Looks like there was a differance in shifters too. I found this in a later model base Firebird. Look at the copper part sticking out under the shifter ****.
Nice center console
It's been so long since I've seen one lol.
My '83's interior is great isn't it?
