the reason i got the camaro in the first place was to part is out. i got the car for 200 bucks, so i'm going to sell some stuff off it make a little money and then take it to the junk yard. i read some where that the motor is called an "iron duke" and that it is mostly found in trucks and suvs. at first i didnt even think it was stock that someone put it in there but i found out that it is stock when i looked at the title.
so what should i do with the motor take it out and try and sell it (the guy i bought it off of said it ran just needed a battery and a clutch)
or just take it to the junk yard

if your parting it out you may as well try and sell it there are still some people out there that would replace the existing iron duke with another

cant hurt to advertise every thing you are wanting to get rid of on the classifieds here on TGO....

I don't think there was an "RS" in 83. I thought they started the RS up again in 88? I think it's a sport coupe. I could be wrong though.

Yup the rs wasnt available in 83 ...only the Berlinetta , Sport Coupe and Z28 camaros were available..in 83

As for the rs name plate it was available in 87 but only in California...then in 88 it was available in California, Texas, and Florida only.

Then in 89 it was available everywhere...LOL

And in 83 the "iron duke" was only available in the Camaro Sport Coupe and Firebird with a 2bbl or TBI

Got this info from our own TGO
