Video of 3rd Gens
One of the things I'm not sure I'd spotted here is possibly having members submit how-to videos of anything they're doing on their cars, as 'we' always complain about the professional productions recently. Stuff like changing the endura bumper nose, tackling rust repairs specific to these, & engine refurbishing would make good ideas for a how-to, or 'were you' able to do it tape. It's somewhat tricky as it may require someone to be your camera/sound/lighting -editor guy, but it doesn't need to be on par with cable's own car programs.
I also wanted to point out that a few years back on US TV there were at least two shows dedicated to the automobile, one narrated by actor Richard Crenna called Driving Passion (TLC?) Also PBS I think.
Then there was the more interesting one, about our cars, featured Jim Wangers, Pontiac guru. I think it was The Automobile (so I have labelled the tape) This was taped off The History channel when I had cable a number of years ago. My VCR was a crap Goldstar brand that I swore never to use again, while I was archiving this show, stopping and reactivating Record caused the tape to backtrack in the mechanism and record again over where I had stopped, about a full minute of end footage was lost...it is/was TERRIBLE.
Anyone have this, or anything specific to our cars, I'm certainly interested. I bought one Pontiac compilation video from eBay that has Factory used training Laserdisc footage, along with Ed Hamburger promo showing off the 3rd gen Firehawks! The tape ends before the footage, alas (not losing the Firehawk stuff though!)
