No 3rd Gen for "Your Car is the Star"

Looks like Johhny Lightening will not be making these after all. Just got this from a very reliable source:

"The Firebirds were a problem child. Wal-Mart cancelled $2 million in Batman model kits on the water and sent PM into a financial spin. Programs had to be cut or postponed, including Firebirds. The only way to get the Firebirds out was to curtail the number of options on the second-gen cars and eliminate the 80s car altogether. A painful decision, and the mockup still exists, but who knows whether it will ever be done."

I submitted twice for this in hopes of a shot at a 1:64 scale mini-me...Im sure other have also...oh well!

On a related note, the ERTL 1/18 Scale Recaro T/A will have a tan interior so Im really not expecting too much attention to detail here. (82 Recaro has a Black interior)

I am not suprised at all to hear this news. Yet another thing to blame Walmart for. Friggen Wally-world...

I have all the J/L Firebirds in the Firebird line so far. And I will continue to buy every one they release, in the hope that they will be able to get the thirdgen Bird to market someday...

I am really looking forward to the 1:18 Ertl 82 T/A.

Jeff Koch told me via email some time ago that there would be no 3rdGen JL car in the immediate future. Too bad.... maybe they will do it eventually.

I'm with you TAdan on having all of them, but they are already issuing non-standard colors and stuff like that. How many times can they rehash the same cars....? I guess we'll be finding out....

I too am awaiting that ERTL Recaro T/A; the KITT car looks really good to me. That flashing light on the front kills me.....

Frankie, I love the KITT model with the light. It made my day when I found out the scanner lit up

The KITT car is a metal 1:18 diecast issued by ERTL. Go HERE to see it....

You guys with the Knight Rider car have to be careful!
The blue button will leave the flashing light on all the time, while the small black button on the other side will leave it on for a few seconds.
You guys have to watch which button your friends touch!
The local Kee Bee toys out here has a couple of white Z-28 1/18th scale diecast in stock, but I forgot the price!
I still have to get dupes of a few 1/18th scale diecast to display yet! Oh ya, and get more glass display cases!
Go to my website to see them if you want.
http://photos.yahoo.com/warbirdta
and click on display cases.
I already have to update those, as I have added a few more!

George
