I hope this isn't inappropriate but I saw this on ebay. It's a shame about the TTA. I'm not sure who in their right mind would buy it though. Looks to be beyond repair.

If you think about it, might not be a bad price. 4 Ronals, a Dana44, block, heads and headers should be good, 1le front brakes.. etc.. Not a good price, but not bad.

I guess no one could chastise you for parting out a TTA that was burnt and modified to the hilt before that...

$4500?
HAHAHAHAHAHAH
And I own one :-)
I wouldnt trust any part or piece on that car. Obvioulsy, by the way it looks and the fact parts of the engine were melted, what is there to get for 4500? Wow a dana rear and ronal rims? Not worth that.
It's a shame , I know how that feels, virgin voyage of mine after downtime for engine ended on the side of the road and me using an extinquisher to put out the frt brakes :-)
Car was fine for first 8 miles or so. Left to come back home and the drvr frt caliper siezed on me :-)
Always carry fire extinquishers kiddies, never know when your gonna need one.

Poor car.
Who in their right mind would by that car.....the car is a complete right off! It would take a ton of money to bring back that car to its glory days and perhaps, it would also be difficult to obtain replacement parts for it as GM discontinued most of the parts.
I can't believe that someone could put something that looks like that for sale.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone actually bought that pile because I strongly believe that there is a buyer out there for everything that is for sale.

I just love the line,
I guess he has one thing right its definately "a rare car in this condition..."
"A good home" I can think of one good place... a salvage yard crusher.
heck the car is not in that bad of shape, the tailights look like they may work, and hey you get a low miles TTA. SO WHAT? The car would have no different value if it had 4 miles or a million miles. Its not salvageable.

I have a Halon fire extinguisher in my car just in case. I guess we know what a TTA paperweight is going for these days.

Do you think I could get a pic of the Odometer to make sure its really a 26K car?
I will not bid unless I get a pic.
John

I love those cars and normally am, the first one to try and save them but that thing is soo fried from the heat that it would be structurally so dangerous that you might as well play russian roulette. That metal would crumple like cardboard under any kind of real stress, even cornering. We all know how weak these frames are at the best of times...I guess the vin plate might be worth something, can't think of anything else..
I think what makes this car valuable is the VIN and the history - anyone bidding on it, must be thinking of this. One day, who knows, but this car may be worth restoring due to its past.

I know of the car when it was actually in one piece and it was a fine piece at that. Lot of $$$$ in the car from day one.
Getting any amount from it now is more than a pipe dream.
Still for someone who is willing and dumb enough, it could be bought for some stupid amount and put back together after blowing considerably more than buying a complete one would run you. :-)
Most of the parts "specific" to the car are easy to replace/new, very little of it is actually TTA specific outside of the headers and intercooler shroud and downpipe. Rest of the engine stuff could be pieced together if u know what you are doing, and HnR makes mounts now too.
Think spohn makes 2004r torque arms too, there u go insta-TTA.
I wouldnt waste the time, but hey ebay is for the idot savant of buying crap.

I can't believe after all the years I've been on this board, I finally made a post that survived more than three responses. And to think that I thought this one may not be appropriate and would get deleted. "I'd like to thank the academy..."

True, forgot the AC lines, but you can get AC lines done almost anywhere you are too.
Long as you have measurements or a set to copy they can whip up A/C lines just like hydraulic lines.

to whoever bought this car..... Break out the torch & prybars, cut of any usable parts, kick yourself in the *** 4,000 times (1 for every $ you lost), & ditch this sucker NOW!
because the time & $ it takes to restore this thing, it would be easier to find a complete one

watch for a white GTA now with this cars vin
I would almost bet money on that happening. or they might take a real TTA and switch the vin over.

It would only be worth it to switch the vin if the same person bought the engine that was in the other auction, that way both the vins would match
