How rare were these possible options?
Im an idiot. I had bought an '85 Trans am from this older guy for $2,800, and it only had 69k on it. I ended up selling it a few years later for $3,300, because i couldnt afford the gas, as well as tuition. But my question concerns some features that appeared stock but ive never seen before. http://www.sounddomain.com/memberpage/526753 Theres a link to some pictures of it. First off, the seats. They were manually adjustable, the sides on the back as well as the sides on the bottom. The back was adjustable in and out. And there was a peice that pulled out for taller people i suppose. Someone said recaro, but i looked at a set of recaro seats, and they are different. These looked like regular trans am seats but with the other features. Second, it had a locking gas door. Third, 4 wheel disc breaks. Fourth, a console on the ceiling between the t-tops that housed a map light, some weird dials, and a flashlight that said firebird on it. Fifth, every 82-92 f-body i every seen had 6*9 inch speakers in the back, mine had a plastic peice, made by gm, that housed a 4*6 and a small maybe 4 or 5 inch round speaker. I cant find any of these features on any trans ams ive been looking at. Now that im about out of college, i want one with those features, but, is it impossible?

I don't know that any of the options would be considered rare, but it's true that you wouldn't find some of them on most cars. That was a nicely-optioned car. I'd guess it was a customer-optioned order and not dealer-optioned. Too bad you let it go.
1) There was a non-Recaro manually adjustable seat available... looked like the regular seats with ***** on the sides; 2) I don't know about the locking gas door; 3) 4 wheel discs were certainly available; 4) the roof console is something people look for today; and 5) the speaker system was the factory subwoofer system, which is somewhat hard to find.
Parts like the roof console and the subwoofer system might be found in junkyard cars or maybe through used parts suppliers like House of Camaro and IROCZDAVE.

I just looked at the pix... too bad you had to sell it, it looks like a really nice acar, and your looking at about 4000 to 5000 to replace it now.
Probably the locking gas cap is the most unusual option as I have not seen many of those... If any.
If you hold off and wait you will find what your looking for, as decked out cars are out there. If you want the best of the best start looking at 1988 GTA's yes there more expensive BUT there the only year to have both Steering wheel controls and the overhead console. (albeit the OHC is virtually useless, cool but useless)
If you really want all the performance go for a Buick powered Turbo Trans Am from 1989. The up side is there usually loaded, and really FAST, the down side is there expensive. The 91-92 Firehawk is a perfomance "Super car" but are too rare to consider seriously on a budget or in a short amount of time.
In short, start looking, I have read where people have waited several years looking for the perfect car untill they settled.
I hope that helps.

All those options are fairly uncommon for an '85. The rear discs were the norm on T/As since about 1980(except for the shortage in '82).

IF you had the rear wiper and the Digital dash then you would have everything...
Nice car tho...
about a mile from where I live, there is an 85 T/A that is in ok condition that need a motor that looks alot like yours... less the wrap around spoiler, I am not sure which seat option it has tho. THe car really needs some TLC, and I have considered buying it, but I do not have the time to do anything with it.
