Insurance settlement issue

I posted here in August of last year that my 91 Z L98 car had been totaled. I was offered what I considered to be a low value for the car and was never really able to get adequete paperwork from the insurance company so that I could understand what they offered any why.

I finally complained to my state insurance commissioner and that finally got things rolling again. The insurance company is going to pay me what I asked for but I did learn something interesting. There apparently exists a third party service that many insurance companies turn to to determine the market value of vehicles. This company apparently failed to identify my car as a Z28 nor did it assign any premium amount to the car for that option. In otherwords, I was receiving payment as though my car was an RS model.

If you are dealing with an insurance company and they total your car, make certain that you receive a market report on your vehicle and examine that report completely for any errors or mistakes made regarding your car. My market report had at least 7 errors on it where each error would have cost me.

As I no longer possess a 3rd gen Camaro this is likely to be my final post here. Good Luck to you all.

Steve
