92 T/a

I'm buying a 92 T/A that has drum brakes and 2.73 rear. Could this be a WS6 car? Haven't even seen it yet but I wanted to make sure. If not I'll have all the parts from my 86 WS6 to use.
As of now I'm taking my disc rear from the 86 and using an 89 PBR setup--it has 3.27's in it.

I just took the 2.73 POSI drum out of my 92 TA, and it's a WS6 car. I've heard that 92 was running low on disc rears and drums got subbed in unless specififed.

Generally there will be a "performance suspension" badge on the lower ride side of the dash. Sway bars will be 36mm front, 24mm rear.

I do not belive the badge means anything, Unfortunately I think many of the Trans Am's seemed to get the badge, I have seen it on WS6 and non WS6 T/A's. With that said there was two suspension's offered. The same suspension that was standard on the Z28 was the base suspension on the T/A. From there the WS6 package got larger swey bars.

However you may want to check the year that the WS6 changed. I know from 87-92 it was unchanged. But if I remember correctly between 82 and 86 it changed twice.

Interesting.. Well then..

If no RPO sheet, get the vin and go to a Pontiac dealership and get a RPO print out. Being a 92, they will still have it in their computers..

I doubt it a WS6 car. A freind has a 91 T T/A--WS6 centre caps.
Car is a 305 TPI auto/drum/2.73.

Has F41 suspension. Came with the lame 215/60/16 tires.

All WS6 cars had 245/50/16

Well-it does have the 245/5016 inch tires and GTA rims on it--so all I have to do is check the stock tire size--thanks!

All Trans Ams after 88 or 89 had the cross lace 16X8 "GTA" rims

it does have the 245's on? But were they original equipment?Check and post back, I think tire RPOs started with a Q

Tire size means nothing. If I sold my non-WS6 '91 TA it would come with 245's, not the 215's, just bececause no one would want a Trans Am with skinny tires.

Look for 1 of these 2 codes in the driver side rear compartment: WS6 or F41. My car has the 2.73/aluminum drum POSI as stock.

I don't physically have the car yet-the guy is pulling the drivetrain along w/the harness and he's going to deliver it to me-so I have to ask him to look through it for me.
I just want to get ready for it. Converting it to maf.

um...so how do you know then? Just an FYI--WS6 and the 245 tires are a package. Cannot have one without the other.
