Camaro and Firebird Crossfire Wiring Harness...compatable??
Basically what is in the subject. I know a guy that has a wiring harness from an '83 or '84 Camaro...(didn't know they had crossfire in '84. Is this correct??) Anyway, would anyone know if it would be compatable with an 82 Firebird. also, would I have to get the same computer for that year. I take it that the Crossfire setup is the same for all years...would this be correct. Please let me know if you have any info on this. The only thing I can think of that might be different is the cold air induction setup on the '82 Firebird might not have the wires for the '83-'84 Caramo harness.

1982 had the Electronic Spark Control module next to the computer under the dash and 1983 had it to the right of the brake booster where various relays are mounted under the hood. I would also guess that you're right in that the air induction wiring might be slightly different.
If you had access to a 1982 Firebird and 1983 Camaro service manual that would help.
You're correct that there was no Crossfire in 1984.

NO FI for V8's in 84 for that matter.

how hard do you think it would be to convert to '83? Is the ESC modual hard to get for the 83 Firebirds? I might be getting an '83 harness, so I would have to relocate the ESC modual then right?
