Was the radio delete an added option or standard with all 1LE models in 92? Did it also delete the speakers under dash and behind the sails?

 

A friend of mine who has the only red 1LE-92 says all of thosedeletes were stock.

Just curious ... how has your friend verified he has the only red 1992 1LE?

I'd be surprized if that was the case as I have seen a handful of 1991 red 1LE camaros that were part of the Player's race series and I expect the race teams order red 1992 versions for the next race season. Then again, white was the more common color as it was easiest to apply whatever paint scheme the race teams wanted.

Regarding the radio delete ... radios were a standard option on all the Player's challenge cars ... which also were 1LE Cars (in 89-92).

I hate to say it but we've owned 2 '92 1LE Z28s in the past couple of years. This doesn't bode well for your friend's single unit production claim.

When the radio was deleted, the speakers would be deleted also.
