yep. which leaves a ton of uncovered stuff... pretty much will halt you in a hurry if you ever want to work in a hot rod shop that does old school stuff.. Also. Very nice burly.. Exact same one I have (Just had it picked up for a frame straightening finally yay) The interior is perfect and clean. same digital "star wars" dash and all. I think mine has something like 14k miles on it.. was a nice 84 and red.. stored in a barn for most of it's life until i bought it from the farmer lol. so many camaros.. so little time to work on them all lol. Only difference in mine is the center console does not have quite so many switches...

Well only thing I have to go on, to tell what yr berlinetta is the Berlinetta emblem itself and the mechanical fan but here gos!!!
In 85 they started spelling Berlinetta with a capital B. 82-84 berlinettas the b wasnt capitilized. The 85-86 Berlinetta emblems
had a painted gold look to the emblems, unlike the 82-84 emblems. In 1986 all v8 camaros got an electric fan.
I just wish I could see some berlinetta stripes in those pics.

heres a pic on the 86 berlinetta, I beleive the 85 berlinetta is the same. I also Have a comercial I found today of the 86 indy 500
at the end of the race there is a camaro comercial. In the comercial it shows all the 86 camaro models. I have found some 80s magizine with old advertisements as well, and an interesting article on a trans am model I have never heard of as well.
As soon as I get a scanner I would like to give back to this website as much as it can. I will post the info I have on the special trans am in a few minutes.
Thanks
Randy

yea. on the 82 to 84 model berly's the bottom is a solid black, with One 1/4 inch strip about 1/4 inch above the black bottom stripe.

85 on had the soid black strip on the bottom and then a tri color strip right on top of it. (gold, silver, black) or something like that. Sorta close to how the 80' z28 was done. with the pinstriping decal that went around the bottom of it.

ok.. light blue and dark blue....

Light Blue Metallic = Dupont Color B8308
Blue metallic = Dupont Color B8389

or it could be a

Medium Dark Royal Metallic = Dupnt color B8394

those would be my guess.. I know the light blue is that code.. only light blue that was on the 83....
the dark blue is one of those two... you would need to go to a store for the paint color chips to get an exact match....

Im not quite sure that that Dark blue is a metallic, it seems more of like an undercoating.. Hmmm but ill go go those paint chips , I guess i could have waited for the restoration package to come in but thanks for the input

no problem lol.. yea it more than likely is an undercoating.. depends on how bad that paint is coming apart, and what type of paint it is (waterbase or enamel). But i do believe the entire car should be a light blue, with a dark blue or black ground strippes..

yep.. i ussually just unbolt the manifolds from the engine and then unbolt the engine from the mounts and then lift... makes things go a bit easier... some make disagree with how i do it.. but it has not let me down yet.. the most i have to lift the engin is like an inch to 1 1/2 inches... then it clears everything pretty easy.... most times.. but not all the time...

It was A PAIN in the Rear to get the pan out, i had to drop the entire exaust and i figured out that as i raise the engine the car body would raise up as well, put down some padding and put on some sand bags on top of the shocks (padding then the sandbags) once i did that, the oil pump more or less just jumped out of its place

lol. did you unbolt your engine before you pulled the engine up? lol.. happens a bit. but yea.. my y-pipe goes behind my pan by about 3 inches. plenty of room for the pan...

the thing i am having a pain with is the stinking y-pipe itself..

It is pressed right into the passenger a frame... can not even get paper in between there because there is way no space lol. after that I have a larger problem.. one of my transmission crossmember mount bolts actually fell out onto the ground at a gas station.. i went to put it back in.. got it in the hole... started turning and noticed i was not going anywhere.. I then for some reason just pushed the bolt striaght up.. and it just zipped right up in there..sounded like a zip tie.... I then pulled on it and it zipped right back out.. I have no idea what the heck i am going to do to fix that problem... and it is not the best to drive the car with 3 x-member bolts. since it looks like it will twist way easy without that bolt...

yea the engine was off the bolts, heck i left the engine jacked into the air for a day, so it was deffently off the monts, but the engine would rase only so high, then the rest of the body would follow

well. you know you have a sturdy drivetrain then lol.. nice and stiff lol. I have a set of poly engine mounts for the motor now . hopefully that takes care of the exaust clearnace issue on mine.. say. wile you have you engine off the mounts you might as well replace those things. especially if they are stock.. you will notice a difference

The car's already put back together, boy does it feel good to drive it again i checked out the motor mounts and they looked good, However the oil pump was removed once before it looks like, And who ever put it back in decided to weld the pick up tube to the pump can you say dumb ***?

Actually you know welding them to the pump is pretty common.. some pickup tubes in fact are made to weld on.. depends on the pump/pickup i guess.. but i have seen tons of pickups that say "must be tacked to pump" I know all of the ones in mine are welded... I even tacked one on myself because the stupid thing kept fallin off... no idea why... but it did not wanna stay. so i tacked it... no biggy.. i can cut the tack without much pain..

this one fit more snugly then when it was on the old pump, the pick up tube wasnt all the way seated onto the pump either, looked like the person who did it was just trying to get it done and didnt take the time to do the job right

lol, hey ive been toying with an idea for a mod with my interior, ill run it past ya , Im thinking about moving the power window buttons/hatch release button to where the ash tray is up front then cutting a hole where the buttons where and putting a bit of PVC pipe down into the hole, and fiber glass the bottum of the pipe to form a cup holder what do ya think?

that would certainly be interesting. and would be funtional.. in 1983 the cars actually came with a quarts clock where those buttons are as an option.. to bad it was a rare option to be had. removeing that would have been perfect for a cup holder lol..

As for me. i am taking my ashtray and turning it into a switch panel for the different switches i have (undercar, interior, ect.) not something that will be in there forever.. but i like neatness lol.. I am having a custom interior made (full interior minus the seats) out of fiberglass.... i would like some flow a little more useable dash space, and new intreior panels ince mine are cracked and dry rotted. then i am having a custom sub enclosure made for where the back seats are (since those will be useless once the roll cage goes in.)

No idea, but theories. I noticed on mine it was electrical. so either the wire is junk, the physical guage is junk, the trace board on the back of the cluster is junk, or the sensor is junk.
