350 H.O. Camaro Performance Package

I have an old Chevrolet Power Magazine sitting here. I'll type up the first paragraph and i'll scan it and post it tonight...

GM Motorsports Technology Group engineers developed an emission-legal conversion kit to install a High Output 5.7-liter (350ci) small-block V8 in a 1982-1987 Camaro originally equipped with an LG4 or L69 305ci V9 engine and a 700r4 automatic transmission. This coordinated package of components significantly improces vehicle performancewhile reataining all required emission controls.

Has anyone ever heard of this? Is Gm motorsports part of GM (may be a stupid question, but i would rather be sure). It also says 308hp@5000rpm and 365lb.-ft@3500rpm. 13.83 in the 1/4 mile.

I'll post Hi-res scans tonight of all the pages.

Basically it was a complete package right down to a new PROM chip for the ECM. As previously stated it's no longer available.

What you saw was in no possible way a factory setup.

Probably still the stock LG4 like the other 99% of the carbed thirdgens that get advertised as 350s.

Does anyone know if there was ever a registry started for people with completed conversion cars, or even how many kits were sold?
I thought this was a cool idea for GM to take the time to sort out a kit and make it emissions legal.

I would think that the only place it really would have sold at all would have been California. Anywhere else you could have done your own swap for a lot less money.
