PHS - is it worth it?

Yes I did

I was considering going through Pontiac Historical Services to get my invoice and window sticker and such for my T/A, but am concerned as to the best deal I can get. They want $70 and some change I think for all of it, is there anyone around that I can get it cheaper from? A bud of mine said he ordered his stuff from them and didn't think it was worth the coin.

Thanks guys.

i think it's good material. However, i was disappointed with it's incompleteness. i have 3 original Notchbacks and i ordered packets for each of them. They only contain some of the RPOs that the vehicles came with. They don't provide all RPO codes on the vehicle.

For your 25th, yes. You will get 25th specific info.

For a "normal" thirdgen, maybe not. You will likely just get samples of generic items unique to that model year.

did you get the packet dan? if you did, what all did they include?

I know it's not thirdgen specific, but thirdgenners have access to this service too hoping the mods let this one stay

Ive ordered two packets so far.

One for my 94 25th T/A. This included a letter describing my 25th and stating which # out of 2000 it was. It also included a 25th T/A press kit, and dealer bulletins.

It also came w/ production #'s for all the years of Firebirds.

My 95 Comp T/A kit came with lots of general 95 Firebird info, press releases, product info book pages, Firehawk press release.

All it said specifically about my car was to contact SLP to verify its authenticity.

Soooo...I can see the same thing happening with a thirdgen.

I can see a 1LE or TTA car getting a nice spread of in-depth info. While perhaps an LG4 86 T/A might get just "general" info with not too many specifics about that particular car.

Either way, you are sure to get some interesting documents/ reading. For the $35, you cant go wrong.

A 1LE would probably have nothing special in the packet, as they were not considered anything special to Pontiac or Chevrolet. The only thing that really distinguishes them is they are base cars striped of any option and then they got the better brakes and other nice performance upgrades.

About the only cars that I would think that would have a cool PHS packet would be an 89 TTA, the 83 Daytona, and 84 15th anniversary cars, Possibly the Firehawks.

Actually you used to get dealer invoices for free from GM until people abused it so badly that the person doing the research could do nothing else, now its $50. I thought PHS used to be $30 apparently GM is charging them too

I got lucky and got my invoices free, before GM started charging.

I got 3 of them for Free... Thats back when JenKStep was there...

Oh well, I probably should have done my 2 83's but there just for parts, however it would have been interesting to see what they came with.
