Rare Irocz ?

I have an 88 IROC with some rather interesting parts. The guy I bought it from had no idea what is was other than it was a camaro, he had gotten it from a friend who owned a chevy dealer. The car is a 305tpi 5 speed. It came with global west everything and every bushing that could be replaced with a solid bushing was and everything else is polyurethane. It only has the stock torque arm all else is replaced. It has 16" gta type wheels on it. From the papers it came with it had a crane cam installed in it. Also a edlebrock base manifold, tpis runner, air foil, adj. fpr, edlebrock coated headers with 3" flowmaster exhaust. The clutch is stiff as hell and has a hurst shifter. Now the odd parts it has an oil cooler that uses coolent. There is a sandwich adapter between the oil filer and block and has hard lines running to the cooling system, it looks very stock and I haven't seen a coolent oil cooler setup that isn't factory. It also wears 1le brakes, with matching stainless steel lines. The car is almost perfect with under 75K miles. Is it a 1le car? Is the coolent oil cooler a ultra rare item? Is the car itself ultra rare? With all these parts could it have been used by GM to promote the IROC 1le cars? I have a ton of pictures I will send to someones email. I am retarded and can't post pics

It sounds like a car with alot of aftermarket changes made. This car is far from a factory car at this point. Why would you think it's rare?

I figured that it might be an actual 1le car, the weird oil cooler setup ect... It has a really big driveshaft as well. It is not aluminum but compared to my buddies 89 formula it is huge. The rpo codes are in the glove box right. It just sounded like a factory 1le. The brakes, oil cooler, and I heard that some came with the gta type wheels. Do you need the vin as well?

The fact that it has the 1LE brake setup and all,I would say that some past owner modified that part of the car also. At this point, almost anything can be done. Not a factory setup anymore. You have 1 modified car!

Unfortunately no its not an 1LE, but you have several goodies, like the G92 (performance gear) should be 3.45 or 3.42 ratio with the LB9 5 Speed, Posi, Rear Disc Brakes. Unfortunately not being a 1LE it does not have factory T-tops, I think the T-top would bring a little more.

Red Car with Red Interior...

Basically a pretty typical IROC hard-top Camaro with the LB9/M5 fortunately it has the G92, which would help to those in the know. Its fun to hope tho.

Your right, 87 & 82 are Gray colors, I was thinking of 74 & 72, my mistake.

Ya the car is awesome, I was really hoping it was a real 1LE car. Oh well it has more mods than I have the patience to type and it seems that I find new stuff everymonth. Thanks for your help, I will get some pics up on cardomain and list the site later. I ran it at union grove this summer and it ran a 13.52 @ 103.5 with a 2.0 60ft. time. This is a 305!! No one belives me.

With good bolt ons, a good driver, good track conditions, and good traction... I believe it! I was close to that with my Iroc-Z 305 TPI; my best was 14.1.

Nice find. It sounds as though its been modded tastfully, what a great find. Hopefully the price was right!

G92 on my '88 IROC with a T5 gave me 3.08 gears posi. I believe that code also gave me an aluminum driveshaft, which is huge.

It has the 3.45 gear unless someone swapped it out, that's the GM3 code. The KC4 code is the one for the engine oil cooler.
