vacuum line or fuel pump/filter

I brought home my new convertible on saturday. tried to tow it home but it didn't fit on a uhaul dolly. so we attempted to drove it home. I was low on fuel but not in the red. the car started to die when i was on the gas in drive. when the car was in park i could rev the engine but as soon as i put in drive couldn't get any power.
has neone had this problem b4?

the other issue i have with the car is that the rpo codes & vin say its an iroc with a 305. the guy i bought the car off of say the original owner special ordered the car with the 350? so from what i've read gm didn't offer the option. ne input?

please help

Neither of your questions are convertible specific. You will get far more replies if you ask your engine question in the appropriate engine forum. Repost your question there.

As for the history question, I'll move this to the History/Restoration forum.

Could be alot of things, check your catelytic convertor, Fuel pressure, timing, spark plugs, wires, Clogged Fuel injectors. I would suggest the TPI board, but there are alot of idiots over there that will tell you to do asearch without any attempt to help.

Its a 305... No 3rd gen (Factory) convertable came with a 350, never happened... If its a 5 speed you have nothing to worry about, there pretty quick any ways.

BTW, the Vin would not designate an IROC, unless it has TPI.
