Berlinetta

My friends looking at buying this off e-bay UK.
I didnt think Berlinettas were made in 2.8 form but i'm no expert.
Its cheap [for the UK] but is it genuine at all?
I have the Vin , but it might be the engine number [which is the same?]
1G1A5874CL213220

The car is this one:

Thanks for any info.

First of all the Vin is not right.

1G1A5874CL213220 should be:
1G1AS871CL213220 for an 82 berlinetta with 2.8 liter V6.

other than that. The tail lights and wheels are correct for 82 Berli.
2.8 V6 was the base engine in 82 for Berli. Nose is correct for berli. They did have spoilers. Steering wheel looks correct.

Thanks very much, i wonder why the vins so wrong.
Must be its been made out of Berlinetta parts, bit of a shame, as i they seem quite rare.
Just wondered if the 5 should be a S, what then?

I think you may be on the right track. I would guess that the vin was copied wrong. The 5 is an S, which says it is a Berli. And if the top of the 1 is long enough it may look like a 4. Because 4 is not a valid number for that year. The C says it is an 82.

I think from the pics, and what I can make out of the Vin, it is an 1982 berli. But that is just my opinion.
