88 Camaro SCCA on ebay ..
ebay 1988 camaro ... not a 1LE ... but ...
I thought I would post this link. Here is an interesting car. It looks like a 1988 camaro built in the spring of 1988 and ordered stripped down for racing.
So here is what is interesting about it. I have the VIN's for Player's cars. They were all batch built in the Feb,Mar,Apr time frame. The VINs, while not sequential are always within 1000 or less of each other. In 1988, the Camaro's VINS for Player's cars were 146XXX. This car is 147XXX. It is just too close not to wonder. I checked the car, and it does not have the A4U players code.
Now, if the original owner was at all seriously involved in racing, and was associated with GM or Bill Mitchel Racing, then this car might have some of the same Player's components (shocks, struts, springs, etc.). I know very little of the US SCCA stuff other than it was not as formalized as the Canadian stuff.
This car might have the PBR front brakes (front factory), although nearly impossible to prove until the factory build sheet can be found. I have a 1988 Build sheet from under a seat from a 1988 Players car. It lists "RACE" in three areas. If this car had this build sheet ... a rare find indeed.
Anyways ... potentially a neat car. OR just a low option car used for racing.
I would be asking "Who are the previous owners?" and then following up.
Fact findingly,
Mark.
