Most wanted parts?

What in your guys opinions are the most high demand parts for a camaro or firebird? Perhaps, your top 5 or 10?

As above.

But in general, doors, they all seem to be rusty at the bottom, or in the wrong country for me to go and pick up.

As others mentioned about 82-84 Firebird parts.

IMO #1 15" N89 Turbo cast Wheels and the Bowling Ball caps

Pmd seats/Recaro seats

82-84 Trans am & /S/E tinted taillights

82 Aluminum Cowl hood

82 Firebird round shift ****

A nice 82-84 dash pad

82-84 #64 Doeskin interior parts

Those weird door bird emblems on some 82 birds

1983 Daytona T/ A Whet Aero N89 wheels

ANYTHING for Recaro's although I have had 2 sets of gold recaro Turbo cast wheels this year.

Its ail I can think of for now.

Are PMD seats that popular? There is a firebird here at my local JY with blue interior and it has pretty nice PMD seats.

Hmm... I think 91-92 front ground spoilers would be up there too, and dash pads... yeah i got 255 for one on ebay plus shipping, and another is up to 200 somethin...

Any good TPI/ 305 parts?

Black interior plastics, seat belts, carpet, door panels

145mph gauge clusters

hi rise wings

grid style tail lights

Thats what I can think of so far.

I would agree with the above comments on the '82-'84 parts as well, but more so with the '82's. There are many parts that are '82 specific and are somewhat harder to find. Good door sills being one, seatbelts, shiftknob and button of course. '83's also have a year specific shifter but I don't think too many people realize it. Also any CFI components seem to be getting hard to find. Prices are also going up on ebay for CFI components but sometimes you can find a good deal. I have been noticing on ebay however that a lot of the "KR" stuff hasn't been selling very well, wheels being one and I have seen the same PMD seats on there for a month now with no bid being placed, but on the other hand an '82 shift plate went for about $75 or so, just the plate mind you...go figure

console pads for these years are also kind of hard to find in good shape. They can be pricey too. Also the dash pads that were mentioned earlier, with the earlier years harder to find.

Well I have to disagree. I had a cherry dash pad from a 82 Firebird and no one wanted to buy it from me. I sold it to a local body shop guy who was doing a paint job on an 82 and all I got was $70. I have a factory knee pad from 83-84 firebirds and I got a complete set of seat belts plus $40 and I figure that part is pretty rare.

Well I actually traded the factory knee pad for a set of black seat belts and $40 which would lead you to the conclusion that it is quite rare, I got offered more but I stuck with the guy who wanted it first. It mounts on the center console via holes drilled into the console and the same type of fasteners that the door panels use. I will post a pic of the knee pad.

I think that 1991-1992 Trans Am/GTA taillights that are either used, or NOS, fetch big bucks!
Yes, the 1983 Aero wheels go for big bucks, but have you checked out the caps alone? More than the wheels alone, without the caps!
Alot of 1989 20th Anniversary parts go for big bucks too!
Owner's Kist go for over 600 bucks alone!
How about the stock 20th Anniversary spark plug wires? If they have the 20th Trans Am writing on them, way over $200.00! For six wires!
These are just a few too.

PMD seats are worthless for resale, don't even bother pulling them cause they'll never sell. You'd have to have a local buyer to even begin to make it worthwhile.

Same can be said for nearly anything that weighs more than about 15 pounds or is very large when it's boxed up. No one will buy it if it's expensive to ship. That's why dashpads (while most thirdgens need a nice one) don't sell easily. Body parts also fit under this catagory, along with drivetrain pieces. So basically, the only pieces a person can make any money off of are interior parts that fit into small boxes (think armrests, seat belts, small trim), exterior trim (foglights, taillights, emblems), and electrical pieces. But really, the truth is that there isn't really any part of these cars that's worth anything, because the owners are too cheap to pay market value.

Overhead consoles used to go pretty well.
T-tops are a LOOSER
The 87-89 Deluxe Door panels from a GTA are hit or miss unless there perfect

I sold a pair of nice back seat backs for $100 in Black of course.

I could not GIVE away a 82-85 T/A Wing

Heritage Emblems are very hard to find (luckily i still have mine) and also the Red RS emblems that come with the heritage package are now discontinued and are pretty tough to find.

As everyone has stated the '82 to '84 parts are getting harder to find.I feel for those that have '82s especially because of the year specific/only parts. The Z28 gold rocker and rear bumper emblems,I'm lucky mine are in good shape. But the bumper crossfire injection emblem will be fun to find. And yes I agree with the doeskin interior parts,of which mine is a 64C.

Yup! Some of the 82" stuff is getting very hard to come by

Like S/E & Firebird emblems with the correct "green" color to go with the light Jadestone Metallic paint

I had glanced at the firebird in my local yard and remembered that the seats had a PMD on them. I passed by because I am not into blue interior but I got an instant offer after I posted what I did. To each his own I guess
