I was curious if there were any packages in 89 that gave a 305 TBI Firebird Posi? Friend says he has posi that was stock. He has a stick shift and its a 305 TBI. Is he confused or did they really have a posi package for this kind of firebird?

I have a 88 SC Camaro that was a L03 T-5 car and it has factory posi with 3.23 gears.

Damn, all the questions I could answer if I got off my butt to go get my new Firebird book at Barnes and Noble!!

Someone else can probably answer this before I can, but I can have an answer for you by Friday once I get my code book. My GUESS is there probably was an RPO for positraction.

Positraction RPO is G80

Yes posi can come stock even on TBI cars. Mine has the G80 RPO code.

The RPO had to be specified to get it. I've never personally seen a posi TBI car. Every one I've seen has been a 2.73 geared auto or a 3.08 geared manual, and all of them have had open rears.

yes i have a 88 tbi plain jane firebird that came stock with a posi but why did they bother with posi on 2.73 gears ?i dont know but they did. just thought i could help .
