What are the stiffest stock springs? I would rather have model/year than part numbers. But I would like to know lbs rating. And latteral G specs.

They're all virtually the same. From what I can tell GM selected the springs for a specific car based on its options and weight. Any FE2 car is going to have the stiffest springs, for identification purposes that would be any Z28, any Trans Am, any GTA, any Iroc. RS's use F41 in most cases which use the same rears but lighter front springs.

Dunno if it helps, but the 2 WS6 cars that I've driven (my 88 GTA and my friend's 86 TA) both ride substantially stiffer than my IROC does, even after switching to Jamex lowering springs in the IROC, which are supposed to be 660lb/in springs in front.

You dont want stiff front springs with a street driven car. You will feel EVERY bump, rut, and pothole in the road, and so will your spine and kidneys.

Sorry drew, not all Z28s got FE2, my 92 Z vert is F41, and the spring codes match macgyvers 92 RS.
Perhaps verts got the softer springs due to less structural rigidity or even lighter weight (i'm still trying to figure out why verts are thought of as heavy when we are roofless and most importantly hatchless, the little bit of underbody stuff can't weigh that much.)

My floor jack groans hardy when lifting the Convertible... it lifts all the others with ease. You're right about the convertibles using different springs but they aren't really relevant.

My setup will consist of a softer front anyway, because I like to hook more than push. I think that I'll just go with some aftermarkets.
