If You Could Choose A 3rdGen Diecast.....
what would it be? I've been contacted by a company who is working to get some diecast 3rdGen Trans Ams and GTAs produced. He has asked me to help compile information as to which particular 3rdGen cars people would like to see produced in miniature.
As it appears, it will most likely be the 1985-90 models that will get produced, although it was mentioned that a Firehawk could be under consideration.
Please list your "wish list" here, so that I may share it with him..... Thanks a lot!

Who's the company? Peachstate is in the process of building 82-92 Camaros and another company called Sunstar is expected to release 82 Z28's sometime in March. Peachstate has some high quality cars, the GNX and Grand National have been their biggest release.
My preference would be an IROC in Dark Red Metallic(biased of course) and also an 88-89 GTA in Black/Gold

The man I'm talking with is a dealer for GMP, but evidently that is not the company he's negotiating with.
The '89 TTA, in T-top and hardtop varieties, is the "mark"..... it will be the basis for all the other cars that are produced. That's the reason for the likelihood of the 85-90 body style only.
For my suggestion, I expressed an interest in a 1989 ASC GTA Convertible.
Here's the "jest" of the e-mail:
Keep those "wish lists" coming..... Maybe with enough interest, we can get this deal rolling.....

I suggested doing at least 8 cars. These are the suggested cars at the present.
1989 Turbo TransAm - T-Top car with Leather interior. They would use a simulated vinyl to cover the seats in the car.
1989 TransAm GTA - T-Top car with Leather seats. Color(s) would be based on the top 4 colors produced at the factory.
1989 Turbo TransAm - T-Top car with Cloth seats. They would use a simulated cloth to cover the seat in the car.
Alternate again with another GTA car. Then do the hardtop TTA version with the leather seats and then the cloth seats.
In between these cars would be another GTA car or maybe a Firehawk.

Just in case you didn't already know this...GMP is Peachstate. Georgia Marketing/Peachstate. I worked with these guys last year while I was trying to have a car produced. I wanted to get 80's performance cars done and I was told that they already have that in the making. It won't be long and they'll also have the Monte SS and 84-92 Mustangs. Unfortunately, the Mustangs are the first released with with a black 85 GT.

Hi all,
I too, have been working with someone (probably the same guy as you, Frankie). And as you point out, the 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Ams will be done first. But, with minor changes, other cars could be done also. As by doing the GTAs of 1987-1990 in the various colors that were availible those years. If sales take off, or do well enough, it would be possible to "convert" the body molds to accept the 1985-1990 Trans Ams. Then, the possibility of further changes to accept the 1991-1992 Trans Am/GTAs and maybe the Formulas. Nothing has been talked about doing Camaros. There is a company who is already producing some. Maybe they will do more.
To see some posts about this, go to: http://www.turbotransam.com
Keep the faith!

they could do these cars fairly easily. to do my '88 sport coupe, they would just use a '87 z/28, put the iroc's striping on it, have base taillghts, leave the headlight pockets body colored, slap in a rs grille and call it a day.

This would be my list. I would buy the Formula or TTA die cast.

I too am partial to a '91-'92 Trans Am/GTA, I would also love to see the "original" '82 Trans Am, red over black with the bowling ball covers. Any year Formula would be among my personal purchases as well.

ALL of them, Camaro AND Firebird, I'd probably buy almost all of them!! The 1's I would DEFINETLY buy are an 87 IROC-Z28, 84 Z28, 84 Trans Am, and 87 Formula.
It would be cool if each was offered in different colors ext. and int. Also cool if they were detailed right to the 5.7 TPI stickers and regular TPI stickers.

Personally I hope they come out with the 91 - 92 GTA's
I'm partial to them since I own a gun metal grey one. To be honest as long as any 3rd gen comes out I would be pleased with it. I just hope that it is soon.

i already have 82-84 Z28's in two different sizes.
i would kill for a tta and an iroc tho. I would love an iroc with an actual tpi motor under the hood.

Yeah, that would be cool. I think I've actually seen that before.
are you talking hotwheel size diecast?
they already have companies that make iroc versions and early 3rdgen camaros. even a few larger scale versions are easy to find except for those who have a color preference.
i've never seen the 91-92 z28 or trans-am in anything other than ertl prototype design models.
i'd like to see the 91-92 z28's and trans am's
the TTA because they did make over 1500 of them.
not the firehawk, because very few people even know what they are........but, i would buy one if they made it!
all other cars you can find or at least find a version that looks extremely similar.

1. TTA, t-tops, leather interior.
2. '90 GTA, black, t-tops, tan leather looking interior.
yeah, I know you're not actually gonna get leather interiors in them, but the seat style should match. Most GTA's pretty much look the same tho except for minor interior differences....
I'll take any black GTA really.
