What kind of Camaro is this?

There is a used car lot near my house that has a Camaro that I've never seen before. Maybe it's a thirdgen with an aftermarket hood, I don't know. The best way I can describe the hood is as a kind of cowl induction looking thing with louvers in the side of the induction part. I haven't stopped and looked very closely at it, but I wonder about it every time I drive by it. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

Definitely aftermarket...there was no such thing as a cowl hood on a third gen.

Well, the thing is, I don't think it is a cowl hood, per se. It has a cowl induction looking piece, but I don't think it's open like a cowl hood wood be. Let's just say it looks pregnant. At any rate, I'm sure you're right. It's probably just an odd looking aftermarket hood. I'll stop by the lot and see if I can't get the VIN 'cause it's just got me crazy.

It sounds like a Daytona hood to me. i can't remember who makes them, but they look pretty much like you said. I think ASCD mightmake them.

Its called a Daytona Turbo hood or someting. I think it is ugly. I saw an 85-87 SC w/ one near my grandmas house. It was ok but I wouldn't get one.

I agree, pretty ugly. It reminds of the Corvette in "Corvette Summer".
