These are VERY hard parts to locate. They were molded only for our ASC convertibles. If it is a matter of changing the color of your interior, there is a much simpler route. Take the poeces to an auto upholstery shop and have them recovered. Just treat these pieces like gold. They are only thin vacuum formed plastic. If they crack fix them. I recommend epoxy and aluminum pieces inside to reinforce it. If they are missing, and you are restoring a car, then try the used parts dealers and the F-body classifieds. But remember they know these pieces are gold too and will charge accordingly. So far no one makes reproduction pieces that I am aware of. Good luck, Lon.

Hey Ionsal, the previous owner of my car tried putting in 6.5" speakers and cut the hole to big. How would you fix that? I dont want to replace my panel. Is it fixable?

Fabricate a sheet of aluminum to match the contour of the panel. Make it larger than the hole by a couple of inches each side. Drill some holes in the aluminum where it won't show and sand the back side of the plastic to give the epoxy some more bite. Epoxy it in place from behind. Fill the front with another piece of aluminum sheet the same thickness as the plastic and epoxy in place as well. Glue new fabric over the repaired panel with 3M Super 77 aerosol spray adhesive. Good luck, Lon.

i need some help.....should i get my panels re-covered since i just want to change my interior color. Is that possible. I guess I would have to get the front door panels re-done too because i would want them to match. I need to find a shop around here, i think i might be better off having that done. What about the material? What type should I use?

There are tech articles explaining how to recover the door inner panel yourself. Or contact a local auto upholstererwith your ideas. Another option is contacting a ThridGen used parts dealer or searching on eBay. The door panels are pretty redily available. But the remaining hard plastic pieces are very pricey new. Black interior trim pieces sell for a premium vs. the other colors on eBay. You can try the paint for plastic. But if it gets scratched the original color shows and needs to be resprayed. I did paint a door sil trim piece satin black with some good success. It seems all the vogue to change the interior to black. I am fortunate that the interiors of both my Camaros are already black. Good luck, Lon.

if i cannot find them, i am going to have mine redone. I went to a shop today and they said that they could be redone for 55 bucks each for the rear panels and 80 bucks for both of the front door panels. thats 190 bucks total. I figure it would be best to get them both (front and rear) redone so that they would match exactly. Now my question is what material to use. Should I use tweed or vinyl or some other material. The place had a heavy black tweed and a lot of black vinyl. I think that they would look best in tweed, but what does everyone else think?

I like the herringbone pattern that is on both my 88 Iroc and 90 RS 'vert. But more important than what I prefer, what looks best to you? Since you will be the one paying for it and living with the choice daily.

The fabric on the convertible interior rear side panels is glued on. So whoever you have do the job, make sure you retain your old fabric, just in case you want to revert back to the original color and fabric.
